Well today I’m going to explain and talk about all the causes of shoulder pain and tell you about the steps you can take to get rid of and prevent the shoulder pain to get a peaceful sleep. There are various causes and we are going to talk about all of them.
Sleeping positions can cause pain in your shoulder. Sleeping on your side can put a lot of stress on your shoulder. When you sleep on your side, your shoulder has to bear all your weight. Most of the people that have shoulder pain have it because of their sleeping position.
Well as we now know that your sleeping position is the main cause for your shoulder pain, but it is not the only cause. There are a few other conditions that can also cause shoulder pain and I have listed them below.
There are small sacs found in your shoulder filled with fluid called bursae. They help cushion the tissues around the joints in any part of your body. When a bursa becomes inflamed, we say that bursitis happens. It happens the most in your shoulder as shoulder is the most common body part in which bursitis can occur.
An injury that affects your shoulder can also cause bursitis. Repetitive actions with your shoulder can also cause bursitis. Some symptoms of bursitis are aching in the shoulder, a pain that gets worse when you move your shoulder, Stiffness in the shoulder and swelling.
To treat bursitis, you can try physical therapies and exercises. You c=should try taking OTC anti-inflammatories and resting the shoulder can also cure bursitis.
The shoulder impingement syndrome happens when some of the soft tissues around the rotator cuff rub on a nearby tissue or bone while you move your arm.
The causes of this are bursitis, the swollen surrounding tendons, bone spurs that can develop and the acromion (A bone in the shoulder joint) that’s Curved instead of being flat which it normally should be.
To treat this, you need to rest your shoulder, the OTC anti-inflammatories are very important as they can relieve the pain. Shoulder exercises should also be a very good treatment for this.
A rotator cuff is a group of tendons that surround your shoulder joint. It secures your upper arm bone and shoulder blade by attaching to both of them.
The rotator cuff injury happens when those tendons become irritated or inflames. It can also be torn. The symptoms are pain that increases when you move your arm, ache and pain that is deep inside your shoulder, disturbed sleep and stiffness in the shoulder.
The treatment to this is resting your shoulder and cooling it with ice in the part where it is aching.
